What it's all about

This website is dedicated to those people who want to help create an affordable & scalable (*) state of the art (on-line) War Simulation (for professionals).
The working title for this project is Sim2War.
Currently we're in the project implementation phase.

High level specification
Technical
 Linux Server based system using Open Source as much as possible
 Clients Windows, Linux and Macintosh machines
 Client will run in web browser
 Communication between clients and server should not take more than 64k bandwidth
 Shall run in mixed LAN/Internet environment

Simulation
 Multi factions, at least 2 and up to at least 4 (Allies, Opponents, Neutral)
 Multi player between 2 and at least 20 players
 Umpires between 1 and 5
 Command Levels Army Corps (XXX), Division (XX), Brigade (X) / Regiment (III)
 Large Formations formed by combining Company (I), Platoon (ooo) forming Battalions/ Regiments/ Independent Companies
 Full support for Combat (Maneuver) elements, Combat Support (CS) and Certain Combat Services Support (CSS)(mainly under server control)
 Full support for Attack Helicopters, Close Air Support (CAS) and Air Interdiction (AI)
 Limited (optional) Air Warfare (mainly under server control)
 No Sea Warfare
 Support for amphibious landing/crossing.

(*) To speed up things I've chosen a commercial real time processing platform. For development and testing purposes we have free access to this system.
Any Intellectual Property (IP) that is developed as a result of this project will be made available as open source.
